Fantasy and young adult fiction from New Zealand

Dangerous magic. Fierce friendship. A world shaped by the Song.

Robyn Prokop writes adventure fantasy for adults and readers aged 15 and over. Begin with Taelstone, the award-winning first book in the Stones of the Azuri series.

Three books are available now. Book Four is coming soon.

The Stones of the Azuri

One Song. Two unlikely heroes. A darkness older than memory.

Ash is a kitchen slave haunted by music he cannot explain. Kep isn’t just his closest friend — she’s his only friend. When danger forces them from the only home they have known, the friends are drawn into a struggle shaped by ancient secrets and ruthless enemies.

One Song could be all that stands between the world and its destruction. But only if Ash is brave enough to sing it.

The Stones of the Azuri is an ongoing adventure fantasy series for adult and older young adult readers.

For younger readers

A small cat caught in a very big fire

In February 2019, a spark in a Pigeon Valley paddock became a major fire. Families were told to evacuate, including Dozer’s family. But while everyone else was preparing to leave, Dozer was busy doing what cats do best: stalking, pouncing, washing and sleeping.

When he wakes, his family is gone and the familiar world around him has changed. Inspired by true events and the author’s own evacuation, Dozer the Fire Cat is a story of fear, courage, survival and finding the way home.
