Stories do not begin and end on the page. Behind every book there are years of reading, false starts, long walks, and the slow work of turning an idea into a world that other people can live inside.
This journal is where I share some of that. You will find notes on the craft of writing and worldbuilding, thoughts on the books and authors that shaped me, honest observations about independent publishing, and glimpses of life on a rural property in Nelson, where writing is regularly interrupted by animals, gardens and the practical demands of country life.
